Story

Tomi Nordlund and Lasse Noukka, old friends back from elementary school, had gotten a little tired of their pop group Futone simply because things we're going nowhere after six long years of working.

It was time to do something completely different. Almost by chance they ended up writing a couple of catchy folk songs. Soon Saku "Bruce Springsteen" Virtanen was invited to play the drums.

Famous Finnish musician Janne Kuusela found out about the promising band and was happy to join it right away. The band had it's first rehearsal in August 2005. After a couple of months of training and songwriting the guys came up with the peculiar band name - Cry Bar.

The four music lovers found themselves playing different kind of songs from classic rock to folk, blues, progressive rock and even punk and disco. There was no limits, they just let the music flow out of their instruments.

The guys recorded their first demo cd in a couple of days in December 2005 with the Finnish keyboard maestro Okke Komulainen. It included nine awesome songs. Cry Bar's first gig took place in Yo-talo, Tampere in January 2006.

The talented group's next challenge is to book lots of gigs and get a record deal. So get yourselves ready for Cry Bar!
